BC Proteomics & Metabolomics Network

To unite and strengthen the proteomics and metabolomics community in British Columbia by fostering innovation, collaboration, and excellence in research.

About Us

The British Columbia (BC) Proteomics & Metabolomics Network comprises all the laboratories and facilities within our province engaged in proteomics and metabolomics research. Originally established in 2007 as the BC Proteomics Network, the initiative received initial support from the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research Platform grant to advance proteomics research in BC. Over the years, the network has evolved to encompass laboratories involved in metabolomics as well.

A key initiative of the network has been the organization of an annual symposium since 2008. This event serves as a platform to foster discussion and facilitate the exchange of information and methodologies among diverse research groups.

Currently, the network is overseen by a steering committee consisting of Drs. David Goodlett (UViC), Tao Huan (UBC), Yvonne Lamers (UBC), Philipp Lange (BC Children), Thibault Mayor (UBC), Sandi Spencer (BC Cancer), and Bingyun Sun (SFU). If you require more information about our network or are interested in exploring potential partnerships, please do not hesitate to contact us.

2026 BCPM Annual Symposium is around the corner

The 2026 BCPM Annual Symposium is just around the corner! This year’s event will be held at the Research Institute of BC Children’s Hospital on April 27–28, 2026.

We are thrill to welcome Dr. Jennifer Geddes-McAlister from the University of Guelph and Dr. Adriana Zardini Buzatto from the University of Calgary as our keynote speakers. Alongside them, a strong lineup of invited speakers from research labs within our network will share their work on various research areas. With the continued support of our sponsors, we are expecting an engaging and well-attended event.

This year, we are particularly excited because we will slightly modify our format. The first morning will be dedicated to CREATE trainees, taking place before the main meeting begins. In addition to poster sessions, we will be introducing “lightning presentations”—short talks consisting of one slide and two minutes—designed to encourage greater interaction among symposium participants and across members within the BCPM network.

Registration is now OPEN. More information about the symposium and the registration link can be found here on our website under the symposium section. We look forward to welcoming you to this year’s event!
